How to sort array with selection sort?

The selection sort divides the array into two parts, namely sorted and unsorted. In the following iterations, the algorithm finds the smallest element in the unsorted part and exchanges it with the first element in the unsorted part. Thus, the sorted part increases by one element.
The code is as follows:

for (int i = 0; i < a.Length - 1; i++)
{
int minIndex = i;
int minValue = a[i];
for (int j = i + 1; j < a.Length; j++)
{
if (a[j] < minValue)
{
minIndex = j;
minValue = a[j];
